It was a hot and sunny day on June 22 but that didn't stop hundreds of adults from enjoying the first Summer Bash on the grounds of the post.  Cold drinks, plenty of favorite cookout foods and music by Rock Candy kept the party rocking on for hours. Advance tickets sales went fast but they were also available the day of, for $25. It was an adults-only event.

 

If you wanted to do more than sit and enjoy the music, there was corn hole, ax-throwing,  horseshoes, and shade for conversation provided by set-up tents. One’s ticket entered them in a drawing for prize money, and every 30 minutes, some lucky person was a cash winner. Inside the air-conditioned post, several tables of decorative gift bags were displayed, and up for grabs through a silent auction. The great variety of products, services, trips, and outings made ticket sales a hot commodity.

 

The efforts of officers, members and volunteers made this inaugural event a financial success with several thousand dollars raised to benefit other local organizations and vets in need. 

 

Everyone had a great time, some lucky people went home with cash, prizes and gift bags – mission accomplished! The event was so successful that the first Fall Bash is in the works.  Details on the next event will be posted on the website – so get ready to welcome cooler weather among great company, good food and fun, all for a good cause.
