Our weekend entertainment will be from 7 to 11 for Friday night DJs and Saturday night bands. The public is invited. Non-members are subject to a cover charge.

Memorial Day Activities
Post 845 will be involved in multiple activities related to Memorial Day, 2024.
On Saturday, May18, social members and veteran members will place flags on the graves of veterans at Fairview Cemetery, Glenmoore Cemetery, All Souls Cemetery, Forks f the Brandwine Cemetery, and St. Pauls Cemetery.
On Thursday, May 23, veteran members will participate in a special Memorial Day ceremony at Lionville Middle School followed by a convocation in the school auditorium that honors veterans who gave their lives in service to their country.
On Saturday, May 25, the Post Honor Guard will participate in memorial services at Marinelli Park with other veteran organizations and then conduct post ceremonies at Fairview Cemetery, Glenmoore Cemetery, All Souls Cemetery, Forks of the Brandwine Cemetery, Hopewell Cemetery, and St. Paul's Cemetery. The services at cemeteries typically includes the reading of prayers, the placing of tributes on a selected veteran's gravesites, a rifle salute, and the playing of Taps.
Monday, May 27, Memorial Day Services will include a joint ceremony with DAV, VAA, VFW, and Marine Corp League at Norwood and St. Joseph's Cemeteries, followed by participation in the Downingtown Memorial Day Parade at 11 a.m.
The parade ends at Kerr Park, attendance at the Downingtown Kerr Park where a memorial ceremony is held.
The final service will be held a the VFW Post 845 flagpole at approximately 12:00 p.m.
Following the ceremony at the post, a luncheon will be held for veteran and social members of the post and their families. Attendees are requested to bring a covered dish item to share. The post will provide hamburgers and hot dogs and the event is being billed as a cookout.
VFW Post 845 golf tourney -- June 17
The 2024 annual post golf tournament will be held on Monday, June 17, at Honey Brook Golf Club. A signup sheet is at the post. Registration fee is $120 for non-members and $60 for members. A luncheon for golfers will be held at the post following the tournament.
Summer Bash -- June 22
A special outdoor fun event is planned for Saturday, June 22 that will include food, beer, live entertainment and a drawing for cash prizes every half hour from 2 to 6 p.m. A DJ will perform from 6 until closing. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased from a bartender.
In the event of rain, the Summer Bash will be postponed one week and held on June 29.
