Christmas came a few days early at VFW Post 845 during the annual Breakfast With Santa on December 17 thanks to the effort of General Manager Mary Banks and Food/Catering Manager Kathleen Cary and the generosity of the members of Brandywine Home Association/VFW Post 845.
Approximately 40 children and adults enjoyed a breakfast prepared by Kathleen Cary. The children were excited to see Santa who presented gifts to all of them whose ages ranged from newborn to 12. Some people say Santa bore a striking resemblance to member and Navy veteran Walt Irons.
Post General Manager Mary Banks and her daughter, Allyah, were Santa’s helpers and shopped for the gifts. Every child that attended received a gift and a stocking filled with goodies. Based upon comments of the attendees, a good time was had by all.
