Senior Vice Commander Thomas Flick honored

- 9/8/2023

Senior Vice Commander (SVC) Thomas Flick was honored at the September 5 post meeting when Post Commander Ernie Griffith presented him with an upgraded Bronze Legacy Membership. Flick was already a Life Member of the VFW organization, but Legacy Membership carries certain honors and privileges including hat and lapel pins, certificates, special membership card, and a discount at the VFW store. Flick’s name has been added to the list of Legacy Members on the National VFW website.

Bronze Legacy membership involves a fee which in turn generates an annual endowment of $6 to the post and the district for the member’s lifetime. Commander Griffith stated that the membership upgrade was for Tom’s devotion to the Post, its programs, and activities. He said SVC Flick is a consistent member of the post Honor Guard and Color Guard details, devotes numerous hours to our Safety Awards program ensuring that the Post has a candidate for submission every year, and he implemented and manages our Hometown Hero banner program. He takes on numerous maintenance tasks to repair and improve the facilities at our Post in a timely manner and he ensures that the Post receives multiple estimates for large repair/replacement projects for the Post to find the most cost-efficient way to complete the project. Commander Griffith said he intends to honor other outstanding post members in the future in a similar fashion.
