On June 6 Peter Leporati of the Philadelphia VA Medical Center gave a presentation at Post 845’s regular monthly meeting to introduce a new program that gives veterans of all ages who need nursing home level of care the opportunity to live at home and direct their care and services. Named the Veteran Directed Care Program (VDC), it permits veterans to hire their own personal care aides who might include family members, friends or neighbors.
