Prior to the opening of the January 6 membership meeting, two physicians from a local health care company, "Reinvented Health," made a presentation to the members present about the services they offer to the general public at their Exon office.
Describing their practice as a Direct Primary Care (DPC) and Sports Medicine office, Dr. Michael Welsh and Dr. Mark LaSorda explained that they are different from most medical offices in that they do not bill patients for each office visit or medical test nor do they bill insurance companies. Instead, they charge a monthly membership fee to patients or employers, like a gym membership. That membership entitles patients to same day or next business day appointments, longer times than typical with their doctor, no copays, and direct access to doctors via email or phone.
Their unique form of medical practice can be very cost-effective to certain business owners.
They appeared before our VFW Post to explain their services and the fact that they offer a discount to veterans.
