On 11/11/2024, VFW Post 845 participated in a Veterans’ Day event hosted by Springton Manor Elementary (SME). The school’s students and staff welcomed our nation’s veterans with a patriotic assembly for the entire student body. Twenty-four veteran attendees ranged from school parents, grandparents, staff to local community members. A historical explanation of Veterans Day was followed by several student body performances. Following the school wide assembly, each veteran visited a classroom for each grade from K-5. Each veteran was assigned two 5thgrade escorts to lead the classroom visit schedule. VFW Post 845 thanks SME for hosting an energetic display of Americanism and Patriotism. We look forward to seeing you again next year!
